The 2021 Nissan Murano is classified as a mid-range crossover, but its size is much larger than expected. It has a total length of 192.8 inches and a 111.2-inch wheel. Murano is 75.4 inches wide and 67.8 inches long. It provides a great view of the surrounding area, but the minimum ground clearance is 6.9 inches per cut, so it is not the SUV you would like to use off-road.
While driving experience is outdated, we should applaud Nissan for updating the Murano to keep pace with the competition, at least from style, safety, and comfort. By 2021, Nissan can add their Sear Shield 360 with automatic rear brakes as usual throughout the range. The new Special Edition Package has replaced the SV Premium package, and three new colors have been added to the existing palette.

The 2021 Nissan Murano has a high-end interior but is unthinkable. We like the structure of the center console, however. It mimics the V-Motion grille, and it’s always nice to see the exterior feature of the construction go overboard. Other than that, it’s straightforward. All controls are absolutely where you expect them to be. The infotainment system is outdated, but it has all the modern features. And it is well placed throughout the range, as you will see soon. While it may not sound appealing, there is something to be said about the high-quality interior that feels familiar.
This is not a 7-seater SUV so that the Murano can seat five adults comfortably. The back toilet may be stressful for others, but 39.8 inches (37.8 inches per moonroof) should suffice for most. The front headroom is 39.9 inches and 38.1 inches with a moonroof. The legroom is ample enough all around. The front riders get 40.5 inches, while the rear passengers get 38.7 inches.
The 3.5-liter, 3.5-litre Nissan Murano engine is naturally aspirated with a desire for the V6 in part, which is why it sounds like it has been designed. It’s been over a decade, and even though Nissan continues to refine it, it feels like they’ve attained a point where they can no longer do anything. It upgrades to 260 hp and 240 lb-ft, a sufficient number of horses to power the crossover, but it starts to fall apart compared to most modern powertrains’ power. For example, Ford can get 335 hp on the smallest turbocharged V6 engine offered in its Edge crossover.
